Welcome to the Joan Morrissey Tribute site.
For those of you who knew this extraordinary woman, you will
understand and remember that she was, and still is, "Newfoundland's
First Lady of Song". She, as Tom Cahill quoted, "put
Newfoundland on the map long before the Newf-cult revolution
began".
For those of you who never knew of Joan Morrissey, but still see
her name mentioned in newspapers, and hear her music on the radio,
this site will be a step back in time and you will come to love
the woman you never knew, as I did.
In doing this site, I now know the Grandmother that I never had
a chance to meet and I hope that this site can provide an educational purpose as well as help keep her memory alive.
